For All My Cinderellas

To all my beautiful, amazing women who are mentally, emotionally, physically and monetarily abused, I ask you to TAKE BACK WHO YOU ARE. God did not create you to be another human's doormat. There are TOO MANY opportunities, men, and experiences for you to tolerate abuse. Look in the mirror, and tell yourself I AM WORTH MORE. I DESERVE BETTER. I have been in your position before, and the only thing that got me through it was the love I developed for myself. Say it with me, _____ "Can't Break Me Down". Campaign launching soon ☺ --
If you feel no one loves you, just know that I love each and every one of you.
My First Post

Note to Self: It's About Damn Time!!!

A writer's two best friends are the wee hours of the morning, and a burning thought. I find writing to be so much more fulfilling, relaxing and tranquil during my nightly sabbaticals from reality (and humanity). It's during this time that I detach from all things realistic and dismally obstinate. Life has a tendency to mentally exhaust you. Though I am far from a pessimist, recent conditions have steadily inched me further and further away from my optimistic nature. I find myself pondering upon the goals I have laid out for myself, as we all do from time to time. However, at this particular time, my mind is consumed with a burning question. This question is not predicated on whether or not I can or will achieve these goals, being that my willpower is one thing about myself I can truly rely on. The argument, or debate, rather, is are these goals a product of my own desires, vision and dreams? Or are they just compositions of suggestions from those who would see fit to utilize my talents for their own satisfaction? If I truly could illustrate an ideal future for myself, I would be a full-time musician and author. Writing and music are the two things I can count on to bring me back to MYSELF. As adults, we are constantly bombarded with responsibilities, requests and requirements. This relentless onslaught of "do this", "do that" exacerbates our already daunting stress levels, and sometimes I just want to scream, "CAN I JUST HAVE SOME ME TIME?!". Life provides you with a "shotgun wedding" style union of your nerves and stress, and your most essential passions should serve as your safety. In other words, one thing leads to another, and from then on, you're screwed if you don't know how to handle yourself. It is with great conviction, empathy and experience that I say, FOCUS ON WHAT YOU LOVE. Yes, I know that we all cannot survive off of our passions and pastimes alone, however, at the end of our journey, bills and monetary affluence are not paramount in our minds. The experiences and emotions we've had, our memories, sprinkled with what and who we love the most, are what flashes through our minds. I know this because finances dwindle, possessions dissipate, and reputations fade over the years, but experiences and memories are the threads in the fabric of each person's history. We must make sure that our life's tapestry is one worth reflecting upon.
